  • Discover an introduction to my creative multimedia project that tells the story of my family’s history of generational trauma derived from the geographical disparity that came from living in rural, yet heavily industrialized, West Virginia. Through my literature review, you will gain a researched, historical understanding of often misunderstood West Virginian culture linked to struggles with corporate abuse, poverty and, eventually, addiction. This will prepare you for the content of my creative project. Link here.

  • A Generational Pattern of Corporate Abuse, Dependency & Neglect in West Virginia: My Family’s Perspective - Link here.

  • Photo & video gallery to accompany the project. Consists of my own media as well as relevant archives to my family’s history in coal country West Virginia. Link here.

  • Soundbites from interviews with my family members discussing heavy topics like abuse, addiction and death linked to the dependency created by the coal and drug industry in West Virginia. Link here.

  • A reflection of the things I learned from working on a nine-month-long deeply personal journalistic project. Link here.
